EX-JETS EMPLOYEE SUING TEAM OVER 'SACK EXCHANGE ERA' LOGO

Former Jets employee Jim Pons is suing the team and the NFL for using a logo he claims to have designed in the late 1970s. Pons, who was the team's film and video director, alleges he created the logo featuring a jet plane above the letters “E-T-S” outside the scope of his job.

This logo was used by the Jets from 1978 until 1997 and was recently revived. Pons wants the court to cancel the Jets' trademark on the logo and to prevent the team from using it without his permission or compensation.

The Jets have dismissed the claim as baseless, noting the logo has been registered for nearly 50 years.
