3. Cookies and Similar Technologies
JerseyTalks uses cookies and similar tools to keep the site working, remember preferences, support sign-in, protect accounts, measure performance, and understand site usage.
Essential cookies are required for core functionality and are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies are disabled by default and only turn on if you opt in through the cookie banner or settings.
Analytics cookies may help us understand pages viewed, navigation paths, time on page, scroll depth, clicks, referrers, approximate city or region, and device/browser information. We do not use analytics cookies to collect names, emails, or precise location.
Marketing cookies, if enabled, may support advertising or measurement tools such as Meta/Facebook Pixel or similar providers. These providers may process information under their own privacy policies.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to operate JerseyTalks, authenticate users, maintain dashboards, receive submissions, review and moderate content, publish event listings, process event package requests, manage paid boosts, send transactional emails, prevent abuse, debug errors, improve site performance, and comply with legal obligations.
We may use event and submission information to create, format, edit, promote, categorize, distribute, or display content on JerseyTalks and related social, email, promotional, editorial, or advertising channels.
We may use contact information to send service messages, including submission confirmations, review updates, approval notices, change requests, rejection reasons, publication notices, payment requests, receipts, refunds, and account-related messages.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe and may also be processed by other third-party payment providers if we add or change payment options. We receive transaction metadata needed to confirm payment, manage package status, process refunds, maintain records, and support customer service.
Stripe may collect and process payment information, billing details, card information, fraud signals, device information, and transaction metadata under Stripe's own privacy policy and terms. JerseyTalks does not store full payment card numbers.
6. Email Delivery
We use email delivery providers, including Amazon SES where configured, to send transactional and service-related messages. These providers process email addresses, message content, delivery metadata, bounce information, and related logs as needed to deliver and secure email.
Transactional emails are not marketing newsletters. They are tied to your account, submission, event, payment, review, or dashboard activity.
7. Uploads, Storage, and CDN
Uploaded images, videos, and event cover media may be stored with cloud storage providers and served through content delivery networks. File metadata, URLs, keys, thumbnails, and moderation status may be stored in our systems.
Public event images and submitted media may remain publicly accessible while related content is published or otherwise used under our Terms.
8. When We Share Information
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the site, including hosting, databases, authentication, email delivery, payment processing, storage, CDN, analytics, security, logging, and customer support providers.
We may share or publish submitted content, event information, organizer details intended for publication, ticket links, images, and related materials as part of JerseyTalks content and event listings.
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, court order, government request, rights enforcement, safety concerns, fraud prevention, or to protect JerseyTalks, users, or the public.
If JerseyTalks is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
9. Public Information
Published stories, posts, event listings, organizer names, venue information, ticket links, images, and other public-facing content may be viewed, indexed, cached, copied, or shared by readers, search engines, social networks, and third parties.
If you submit organizer contact information or event details that are intended for publication, those details may appear publicly on event pages, previews, feeds, search results, social posts, or promotional materials.
10. Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, maintain accounts, provide dashboards, process payments, preserve audit trails, handle legal or tax obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and support editorial records.
Published content, event listings, audit logs, transaction records, and moderation records may be retained even if an account is closed or a listing is unpublished, unless deletion is required by law.

You may use your dashboard to manage event drafts and submissions where available. Some changes may require review before becoming public.
You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance. We may need to verify your identity and may retain certain records where required or permitted by law.
12. US State Privacy Notice
We do not sell personal information for money. If you enable marketing cookies, limited data may be shared with advertising or measurement partners, which some privacy laws may treat as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out through the cookie settings banner.
