6 YEAR-OLD GIRL KILLED IN BAYONNE BUILDING FIRE

Authorities in Hudson County are investigating a fatal fire that occurred on Sunday, June 30, at 438 Avenue C in Bayonne. 

Responding to the blaze at around 11:40 p.m., firefighters found heavy fire and smoke in the building. They discovered 6-year-old Saniya Felton unresponsive on the second floor. She was transported to Bayonne Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after 1 a.m. on July 1, 2024.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but foul play is not suspected. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Prosecutor’s Office at 201-915-1345.
