AFTER 18 YEARS, ARREST MADE IN 2007 TEEN RAPE CASE

A Warren County woman has been charged in connection with the rape of a teenage girl nearly 20 years ago, officials said. Prosecutors say Esther Silva, 65, of Knowlton Township, was arrested after investigators uncovered video showing her filming — and taking part in — the 2007 assault of a 15-year-old girl. The footage allegedly showed Silva recording a man, now deceased, raping the victim. Officials said she also personally participated in the assault on several occasions. Silva faces multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit aggravated sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held in Hudson County Jail pending court proceedings. If convicted, Silva could face decades in prison, serving at least 85% of her sentence under state law.
