
AG'S OFFICE RELEASED VIDEO OF FATAL POLICE SHOOTING IN WOODBRIDGE
The Attorney General’s Office has released footage and communications related to the death of Kevin Harlfinger, a 40-year-old man from Middlesex County, during a police encounter on the Garden State Parkway in Woodbridge. The incident, involving a stolen vehicle pursued by Cranford Police, resulted in a fatal shooting where Harlfinger exchanged gunfire with officers.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and a firearm was recovered nearby. Officer Christopher Folinusz sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. The investigation is being conducted by the Office of Public Integrity and Accountability (OPIA) and is subject to N.J.S.A. 52:17B-107(a)(2), which mandates investigations into deaths during encounters with law enforcement officers.
