New Jersey State Police are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Bergen County man late Sunday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, the crash happened around 11:14 p.m. on March 22 along the southbound lanes of the Garden State Parkway near milepost 167.1 in Washington Township.
Authorities say Joel Hernandez, of Elmwood Park, was driving a BMW SUV when the vehicle veered off the roadway and slammed into multiple trees.
Hernandez suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
