A Brick Township man has been sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to distribution of child sexual abuse material, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

Christian M. Kohl, 48, received a five-year prison term with five years of parole ineligibility on Friday. Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan also ordered that Kohl be subject to Megan's Law and parole supervision for life.

Kohl pleaded guilty before Ryan on March 25 in 2026.

Prosecutors said the investigation began with cyber tips and later included an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old girl on Kik. Authorities said Kohl sent nude photos and videos even after the detective repeatedly stated the account belonged to a minor.

A search of Kohl's home and phone followed. Prosecutors said investigators found child sexual abuse material and determined he had shared more than 25 items with other Kik users.
