A Brick Township man wanted in connection with an ongoing Toms River murder investigation turned himself in Tuesday morning, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
Ronald Hagan, 50, surrendered to Toms River police with his attorney present, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.
Hagan was charged on September 24 with hindering the apprehension of another as authorities investigated the whereabouts of 51-year-old Douglas Cobb of Toms River.
Cobb has been charged with the September 18 murder of 42-year-old Bruce Gress, also of Toms River.
Authorities issued a warrant for Hagan’s arrest after he was charged.
Following his surrender, Hagan was taken to the Ocean County Jail, where he remains pending a detention hearing.
The charge against Hagan is an accusation. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
