CAMDEN OFFICER STABBED IN NECK NO LONGER IN CRITICAL CONDITION

Camden County Police Officer Joshua McKnight, 23, is stable and “on the road to recovery” after being stabbed in the neck Sunday evening, his department said Tuesday.

Authorities say Richard Dennis, 38, of Sicklerville, attacked McKnight unprovoked while the officer was conducting a business check. McKnight was rushed to Cooper University Hospital in critical but stable condition.

Mayor Victor Carstarphen, who visited McKnight on Monday, condemned the attack as a “cowardly and disgusting act of violence.”

Dennis was arrested shortly after the stabbing and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder. He remains jailed, with a detention hearing set for Thursday.
