CAMDEN SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT RESIGNS AMID BACKLASH OVER SEXUAL MISCONDUCT ALLEGATIONS
Controversy Shakes Camden School District, Leading to Resignation of School Board President
Camden School Board President Wasim Muhammad resigned following increasing pressure over a $2 million lawsuit settlement involving allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student. Despite being legally exonerated, Muhammad cited that ongoing misinformation had made him a distraction.
His resignation came after a heated public meeting where parents and students demanded his removal. Muhammad emphasized his commitment to serving the Camden community, even though he will no longer hold his position as school board president.
"I will continue to serve Camden as a resident, clergy member, and civic leader," he wrote. "While my official title may change, my passion for uplifting my community and working to make this city a better place to live will remain unchanged." 👀
