A student was hospitalized Tuesday morning after being stabbed multiple times at Fort Lee High School, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Another student has been arrested in connection with the incident, said Deputy Chief Jeff Angermeyer.
The stabbing was reported around 11 a.m. when a school resource officer alerted Fort Lee police. Responding officers found a male student suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect, also a student, was taken into custody at the scene. Both individuals involved are juveniles, and no additional details have been released.
Fort Lee High School was placed on lockdown during the incident. Authorities said enhanced security measures remain in place as the investigation continues.
“The Fort Lee Board of Education and the Fort Lee Police Department have provided direct communication to parents and families,” prosecutors said in a statement. They also urged the public to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing.
