Drivers are being urged to avoid the intersection of Chestnut Street and Franklin Avenue in Belleville after an energized power line came down and began arcing, creating a dangerous situation.
Authorities are warning residents not to drive or walk through the area and to use alternate routes until the scene is cleared.
Belleville Police and Fire crews are on scene, while PSE&G works to safely de-energize and repair the downed power line.
