EDGEWATER TARGET EVACUATED AFTER AT&T EMPLOYEE ALLEGEDLY CALLS IN BOMB THREAT
Police say a bomb threat called into the Target at Edgewater Commons on River Road led to a temporary evacuation of the store earlier on Saturday, January 3rd. Authorities identified the suspect as Jossi Duarte, 22, of West New York, who was working inside the store at the time as an AT&T sales representative.
According to investigators, surveillance footage shows Duarte stepping away from her work area and placing the call using her cellphone. No explosives were found after a full police sweep, and the store was cleared and reopened. Duarte was arrested later that evening at her home in West New York and charged with second-degree false public alarm and third-degree terroristic threats.
No injuries were reported. The case remains under investigation.
