Freedom Rhymers: Pride Edition Poetry Contest and Open Mic Event

The Freedom Rhymers: Pride Edition Poetry Contest & Open Mic Night is a dynamic community event where art, public health, and social justice intersect. Designed as a brave space for authentic self-expression, the event brings together poets, spoken word artists, and community members to amplify LGBTQ+ voices and celebrate intersecting identities.
Through the transformative power of storytelling and poetry, the evening serves not just as entertainment, but as a form of community healing, dialogue, and advocacy. It offers a platform for both seasoned performers and emerging voices to share raw, unapologetic testimonies on freedom, love, resilience, and equity. Whether attending to compete in the poetry contest, share a piece at the open mic, or simply listen and absorb the energy, participants experience a powerful celebration of voice and community solidarity.
