A pedestrian was killed late Sunday night in Ewing Township, prompting an active investigation by Mercer County authorities.

Emergency crews responded around 10:30 p.m. to the intersection of North 6th Street and North Olden Avenue after receiving reports of a person lying in the roadway.

When officers and EMS arrived, they found an unidentified individual unconscious and unresponsive with severe injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives quickly secured the area as they began investigating what led to the fatal crash.

Officials have not yet released the victim’s identity, and it remains unclear whether the driver involved stayed at the scene.

Authorities say more details will be released as the investigation continues.
