A fatal shooting in the parking lot of a Wawa in Toms River is under investigation, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced on September 18, 2026.
Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said the shooting happened around 7:20 a.m. at Route 37 and Garfield Avenue. His office’s Major Crime Unit, Toms River police and the county sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating.
The announcement did not identify the victim or provide a motive. Authorities asked anyone with information to call 732-929-2027 or 732-349-0150.
