FORMER NEWARK POLICE DIRECTOR INJURED IN ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING IN CEDAR GROVE

Former Newark Police Director and Chief of Detectives, Anthony F. Ambrose, III, was injured in an accidental firearm discharge on March 22 in Cedar Grove, NJ.

The incident occurred in a private office complex, leading to Ambrose being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later treated and released. The Cedar Grove Police Department is investigating the incident, with details remaining scarce. 

Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II confirmed the occurrence but refrained from commenting on speculations regarding the presence of Mitchell G. McGuire III, Chief of County Detectives for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, at the scene.
