WASHINGTON TWP., NJ — A former New Jersey middle school teacher has been arrested after a former student accused her of having a sexual relationship with him while he was underage.
Authorities say Ashley Fisler, 36, who taught at Orchard Valley Middle School, allegedly engaged in multiple encounters with the student in 2021 — including inside her car and even in her own classroom.
The former student, now an adult, reported the allegations to police in early 2026. Investigators say text messages between the two were later uncovered, corroborating parts of his account.
Fisler is no longer employed by the school district and has since left teaching, officials confirmed.
She is now facing multiple charges, including six counts of first-degree sexual assault of a minor, along with endangering the welfare of a child and official misconduct.
If convicted, the top charges could carry up to 20 years in prison.
