HAWTHORNE MAN ACCUSED OF SENDING EXPLICIT MESSAGES TO SEVEN VICTIMS, PROSECUTORS SAY

A Hawthorne man has been charged with multiple cyber-harassment offenses after investigators traced a series of explicit online messages to him, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors say 43-year-old Christopher J. Greig was arrested following a joint investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit and the Glen Rock Police Department.

The case began in September 2025, when officials received reports of disturbing, pornographic messages being sent to several individuals. Detectives later determined that Greig had allegedly used the internet to send sexually explicit content to seven victims on repeated occasions between July and September.

On November 21, Greig was charged with seven counts of fourth-degree cyber-harassment, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Glen Rock Police located him the next day and took him into custody.

Greig was transported to the Bergen County Jail, where he remains pending his first court appearance in Superior Court in Hackensack.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing as detectives continue analyzing digital evidence connected to the case.
