What was supposed to be a normal first day of school turned into a family moment inside a hospital room for “Jersey Shore” star Jenni “JWoww” Farley.
Farley shared photos Thursday showing her children, Meilani, 12, and Greyson, 10, getting ready for school by her hospital bedside — including a moment where she did her daughter’s hair while wearing a hospital gown.
“We didn’t get the picture in front of the house. We didn’t get the normal first-day morning,” Farley wrote. Instead, the family had hospital bracelets, backpacks and a first-day memory she said they’ll likely never forget.
Farley revealed she has spent the past week hospitalized while battling what she described as a “horrible kidney infection and appendicitis.”
She said she had been experiencing weight loss, exhaustion and generally feeling “off” for months before her condition worsened last Friday.
She thanked her husband, Zack Carpinello, for bringing the kids to the hospital so she could still be part of their first-day tradition, along with the hospital staff caring for her.
“Our first-day picture looks a little different this year, but we have one,” Farley wrote. “And right now, I’m incredibly grateful for that.”
Several of her “Jersey Shore” castmates, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, sent messages wishing her a speedy recovery.
