Joe Budden had more than one reason to celebrate this weekend.

The rapper-turned-podcast host proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Shadée Monique, during an early celebration for his 46th birthday, turning the night into an engagement party as friends and family looked on.

Video from the celebration shows Budden getting down on one knee and presenting Monique with a ring. She accepted, drawing cheers from those gathered around the couple. The proposal took place Saturday, Aug. 29, ahead of Budden’s birthday on Monday, Aug. 31.

The engagement marks another milestone for Budden and Monique, who have been together since the summer of 2019 and celebrated their seventh anniversary in July. The two have also spoken publicly about marriage on their joint podcast, Pod Wives.

But the engagement wasn’t the only major announcement to come out of the celebration.

Monique also revealed that she and Budden are expecting a baby girl, adding another chapter to an already memorable weekend for the couple.

Budden has deep ties to New Jersey. He was raised in Jersey City and emerged from the local hip-hop scene before gaining national recognition with his 2003 hit “Pump It Up.” He later transitioned from recording artist to media personality, building The Joe Budden Podcast and the Joe Budden Network.

The couple has not publicly announced a wedding date
