JON BON JOVI'S MOM DEAD AT 83 YEARS OLD

Jon Bon Jovi is mourning the loss of his mother, Carol Bongiovi, who passed away at age 83, just days before her 84th birthday. Carol died at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. Bon Jovi described his mother as a strong and influential figure in their family, praising her spirit and attitude. Carol's cause of death was not disclosed.

Carol was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, served as a US Marine, and later founded Bon Jovi's official fan club in the 1980s. She and her husband, John Bongiovi, Sr., moved to Sayreville, New Jersey, and had three sons: Jon, Anthony, and Matthew. Jon Bon Jovi credits his parents with encouraging his musical dreams and supporting his pursuit of a rock star career.

Carol is survived by her three sons, their wives, and eight grandchildren. Her death follows the recent secret wedding of Jon Bon Jovi's son, Jake Bongiovi, to "Stranger Things" actress Millie Bobby Brown.
