A man was fatally shot Sunday at the John R. Lewis Commons housing complex in Long Branch, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

The shooting occurred around noon on Garrett Drive, within the public housing complex operated by the Long Branch Housing Authority.

The victim, a Long Branch resident, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon. Authorities have not yet identified any suspects, and the shooter remains at large.
