🚨 Massive Explosion At South Jersey Factory — Multiple People Critically Injured

A building explosion shook Logan Township in Gloucester County Wednesday afternoon, prompting a massive emergency response and a temporary shelter-in-place order for nearby residents and businesses.

Officials say the blast happened around 3:00 p.m. on Heron Drive inside the Pureland Industrial Complex, near Route 322 and Interstate 295.

According to Camden County IAFF Local 3249at least six people were injured and transported to Cooper University Hospital.

Residents and businesses within a two-mile radius of Heron Drive and High Hill Road were initially ordered to shelter in place. Authorities lifted the order around 4:50 p.m.

Witnesses told reporters they felt the explosion from hundreds of feet away, with nearby buildings shaking and people evacuating in panic. One witness said he called 911 after seeing someone emerge from the building on fire, as coworkers rushed to help the victim.

Multiple fire crews and hazmat teams remain on scene working to contain the fire and assess the situation.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the explosion, and the extent of damage is still being evaluated.
