MONTCLAIR MAN SHOT AND KILLED WOMAN HE DATED

A Montclair chef has been accused of killing a woman, whose body was found at an office building on New Year’s Eve. At approximately 7:25 p.m., on Sunday, December 31, 2023, the Ramsey Police Department responded to 101 Williams Street in Ramsey, NJ, on the report of a homicide. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased 41-year-old woman with an apparent gunshot wound to her head. The investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ramsey Police Department identified LUIS A. SUAREZ as the suspect, and shortly thereafter, he was arrested in Montclair, NJ.

Suarez was charged with first degree murder and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He would like to thank the Ramsey Police Department, the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, and the Montclair Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.

Motives, as to why, are still unknown as of Tuesday evening.
