MYSTERY IN HOWELL: BODY FOUND, DEATH SPARKS MULTI-SITE INVESTIGATION BY POLICE AND PROSECUTORS
Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered early Thursday morning in Howell Township, with law enforcement activity ongoing at multiple locations.
According to a joint statement from Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago and Howell Police Chief John Storrow, the body was found around 6:41 a.m. near the 170 block of White Street. The identity of the deceased man has not yet been released.
Police activity has been concentrated at the scene throughout the day and is expected to continue, though with a reduced presence. Investigators are also active at a second location — Southport Drive near Chestnut Hill Road in the Candlewood section — and believe the two scenes may be connected, the prosecutor's office said.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau, the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team, and Howell Township Police are involved in the investigation. Authorities are urging residents and motorists to avoid the affected areas.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Kayla Santiago of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-800-533-7443 or Howell Police Detective Vincent Bonner at 732-938-4111.
