LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. — A 25-year-old Ocean County woman has been charged after investigators allege she sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13, recorded the abuse, and shared at least one video on Snapchat.
According to court documents, Victoria Anne Cranmer of Little Egg Harbor was arrested on July 8 following an investigation by the Little Egg Harbor Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit.
Authorities allege the investigation began after a former roommate discovered a 14-second video in the Snapchat Memories section of a cellphone that had previously been given to Cranmer. The roommate reported the video to authorities, who later obtained search warrants for the cellphone and Cranmer's Snapchat account. Investigators say they recovered additional videos during the investigation.
Cranmer is charged with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree manufacturing of child sexual abuse material, third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material, and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held at the Ocean County Jail pending court proceedings.
The allegations stem from an incident prosecutors say occurred on May 6 inside a Little Egg Harbor home while the child was in Cranmer's care. Authorities allege at least one of the videos was shared through Snapchat.
The charges are allegations, and Cranmer is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
