🚨 BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Authorities have charged 41-year-old Rogelio B. Cerdavera, formerly of Paterson, in connection to a string of high-end home burglaries across Bergen and Morris counties that investigators say spanned several months.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said the charges follow a lengthy multi-agency investigation led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, along with police departments in Saddle River, Upper Saddle River, Cresskill, and Montville.

Investigators say the burglary pattern began on Sept. 3, 2024, when Saddle River police responded to a burglar alarm at a home on Burning Hollow Road around 9:40 p.m. Officers discovered a rear door had been smashed in what authorities described as an attempted break-in. Multiple suspects had already fled before police arrived.

Several neighboring agencies, including the Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Waldwick, and Upper Saddle River police departments, along with the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office, assisted in the search.

The following night, Sept. 4, 2024, Montville police in Morris County responded to another burglary at a residence on Brookwood Road in Towaco. Investigators said the rear glass door was shattered and a bedroom had been ransacked. The homeowner reported more than $75,000 in stolen property.

Authorities say another similar incident happened on Dec. 4, 2024, in Cresskill, where police found a smashed rear door and a ransacked bedroom inside a home on Vaccaro Drive. Nothing was reported stolen in that case.

Detectives later linked all three incidents as part of the same burglary pattern.

After what officials described as a nearly two-year investigation, authorities identified Cerdavera as one of the suspects connected to all three break-ins.

On March 31, investigators charged him with second-degree theft, second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, and third-degree attempted burglary
