The charge stemmed from an investigation initiated by a referral from the New Jersey State Police Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which had received cyber-tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Unit traced the uploads to an IP address at Lasher's residence. 

Authorities executed a search warrant, found explicit images on his electronic devices, and took Lasher into custody. He is currently held at the Ocean County Jail pending a detention hearing.
