Ocean County Man Sentenced To Prison For Abusing His Six-Year-Old Son To Death In Barnegat

Christopher Gregor, 32, was sentenced to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison for the death of his six-year-old son, C.M., on April 2, 2021. He must serve at least 85% of his sentence before parole eligibility under the No Early Release Act. Gregor was found guilty of Aggravated Manslaughter and Endangering the Welfare of a Child on May 31, 2024, after a six-week trial. He received an additional five-year sentence for the child endangerment charge, to run consecutively.

The investigation revealed that C.M. died from blunt force trauma, with evidence of abuse by Gregor on March 20, 2021. Gregor was initially released under New Jersey Bail Reform but was later re-arrested on March 9, 2022, after further evidence confirmed he caused his son's fatal injuries. Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer expressed hope that the sentencing provides some closure for those who loved Corey.
