PATERSON MAN FATALLY SHOT DURING STREET ROBBERY AT DOMINO GAME

A man was fatally shot Sunday evening in Paterson in what authorities believe was an attempted robbery during a street-side domino game.

The incident, the second violent shooting in the city that night, occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Lafayette Street. Paterson police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered shell casings and a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

According to investigators, the victim had been playing dominoes on the sidewalk with a group of men when an unidentified suspect approached, attempted to rob them, and opened fire—striking the victim with two shots before fleeing the scene.

The suspect remains at large. The investigation is ongoing, and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is urging anyone with information to contact authorities.
