A 26-year-old Paterson man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left another man injured earlier this month, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Keime Porter was taken into custody on July 19, 2025, following an investigation by the Paterson Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Unit.
The incident occurred around 7:46 p.m. on July 9 near the intersection of 12th Avenue and Madison Avenue. Responding officers found a 55-year-old Paterson man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators quickly located a possible crime scene and, through further investigation, identified Porter as the suspected shooter.
He was arrested without incident in Clifton near Gregory Avenue and Burgess Place, with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, New Jersey State Police, and Paterson Police.
Porter now faces several charges, including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He remains in custody pending court proceedings.
The investigation remains ongoing.
