SAYREVILLE OFFICERS SHOOT DOG THAT MAULED 10-YEAR-OLD BOY

Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced an investigation into an officer-involved shooting on November 4 at the Knights Inn in Sayreville. Sayreville police responded to a 911 call reporting a child being attacked by dogs. When officers arrived, they found the dogs attacking a 10-year-old boy.

Officers fired at the dogs to stop the attack, during which one officer was struck by a ricochet, sustaining a minor injury. Both the boy and officer were treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and are in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
