SUSPECT ARRESTED IN CARTERET DOUBLE SHOOTING
JerseyTalks StaffCarteret residents have reported that a potential suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident. The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the arrest, which took place around 3:40 p.m. near an elementary school on Post Boulevard. Several officers apprehended the suspect at gunpoint in a backyard, ordering him to the ground. The suspect is believed to have shot two women, resulting in one death.
Earlier, authorities responded to a shooting report on Roosevelt Avenue, where they found two women with gunshot wounds. Both victims were airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. One woman later died from her injuries, while the other remains in critical condition. The initial investigation, led by Detectives Keith Cassens and Javier Morillo, identified the suspect as a man between 20 and 30 years old.
