Police were called to the 20 block of Third Avenue just before 1 a.m. after reports of shots fired. Officers found a male juvenile, believed to be about 15 years old, suffering from a gunshot wound.
The teen was taken to St. Joseph's University Medical Center for treatment. His condition had not been released as of 4:30 a.m. Friday.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office took over the investigation. No arrests had been announced, and authorities had not released a motive.
