"Known for his unforgettable role as Chi Chi in *Scarface*, actor Angel Salazar's life took a tragic turn as he passed away at 68. The beloved comedian's sudden death shocked fans worldwide—here’s what we know about the events leading up to his final performance."
Angel Salazar, who captivated audiences as Tony Montana's sidekick in the 1983 hit film *Scarface*, passed away in August from acute intoxication linked to cocaine, cyclobenzaprine, and diphenhydramine, according to the NY Chief Medical Examiner. His arteriosclerosis and hypertensive cardiovascular disease were also contributing factors, and his death was ruled accidental.
Salazar died at a friend's home in Brooklyn, where he was found unresponsive. Known for his iconic catchphrase, "Sheck it out," Salazar had a rich career across film and television, including roles in *Carlito's Way*, *In Living Color*, and several HBO comedy specials. His final performance took place in August at Reno’s Silver Legacy Resort Casino. In a tribute, musician Tito Puente honored him as an "amazing actor and good friend" whose characters and comedy "will be forever missed" (TMZ).
