TWO JERSEY CITY MEN ARRESTED IN MONTCLAIR ARMED ROBBERY; ONE SUSPECT STILL AT LARGE
Two men from Jersey City have been arrested in connection with a broad daylight armed robbery in Montclair, while a third suspect remains at large, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, when a woman walking her dog on Willow Street was approached by suspects in a stolen Acura TLX. Authorities say two masked individuals exited the vehicle and held the woman at gunpoint, demanding her jewelry.
The suspects — identified as Wesley A. Garcia, 18, and Kirvin De La Rosa, 19 — were arrested following a joint investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Montclair Police. The stolen vehicle was recovered in Jersey City later that same day.
Garcia and De La Rosa face multiple charges, including first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, eluding police, and receiving stolen property.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify the third suspect.
