TWO PEOPLE DEAD IN PATERSON RESIDENTIAL FIRE; INVESTIGATION ONGOING

Authorities are investigating a fatal fire that broke out early Friday morning at a Paterson residence, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes.

Around 2:32 a.m., the Paterson Fire Department responded to a call at 71 North 7th Street, where they encountered a home engulfed in flames. Two residents, a 69-year-old man and a 28-year-old man, escaped unharmed. After firefighters extinguished the fire, the bodies of two other individuals were found inside. Their identities are pending confirmation by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office tip line at 1-877-370-PCPO or email tips@passaiccountynj.org. Additional details will be shared as the investigation continues.
