The victim killed in the mass shooting at a New Jersey Chick-fil-A has been identified. Malek Shepherd, 23, of New York City, was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday night. He was the only fatality in the attack, which left six others injured.
Authorities say a group of masked men stormed the busy Route 22 location in Union Township just before 9 p.m. and opened fire, sending customers scrambling for safety.
Law enforcement sources believe Shepherd was likely the intended target, with the other victims caught in the crossfire.
No arrests have been made as the investigation remains active.
