Ernesto Lara-Rojo, 49, of West New York, was arrested by Bergen County authorities on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapon offenses following an incident in Cliffside Park. The arrest came after a domestic violence report on April 1, where Lara-Rojo allegedly cut the throat of a female victim with a razor blade, causing life-threatening injuries.
The investigation was conducted jointly by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Cliffside Park Police Department. Lara-Rojo faces first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault, and weapon possession charges. He is scheduled for a court appearance in Hackensack on April 2.
