NEWARK, N.J. — Zeddy Will brought some NYC energy across the Hudson as he hit the stage during Newark’s annual 24 Hrs. of Peace, drawing a packed crowd in downtown Newark.
The Queens rapper was part of Saturday’s “DJ Lil Taj and Friends” lineup, which also featured Jenn Carter, Kyle Richh, Ta Ta and Coi Leray. The performance was held near Halsey and Market streets as the city wrapped up its 16th annual 24 Hrs. of Peace celebration.
The event kicked off Friday evening and ran through Saturday, combining live music and community programming with a larger message of nonviolence, conflict resolution and neighborhood unity.
Zeddy Will was among a long list of artists featured throughout the weekend, with MC Lyte, DMC, Memphis Bleek, Freeway, Tsu Surf, Arsonal and Bunna B also appearing on the official schedule.
For Newark, the event has become a summer tradition. Mayor Ras J. Baraka founded 24 Hrs. of Peace 16 years ago while serving as South Ward councilman and expanded it citywide after becoming mayor.
And judging by the crowd during Zeddy Will’s appearance, Newark was definitely outside. 🔥🎤
