ATLANTIC CITY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO BRUTAL SEXUAL ASSAULT, FACES 12-YEAR PRISON SENTENCE

Authorities in Atlantic County announced that Eric Williams, 56, of Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault on Wednesday, November 13. Williams faces a recommended 12-year sentence in New Jersey State Prison, where he will be required to serve 85% of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Following his release, Williams will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be subject to lifetime parole supervision.

According to authorities, on May 19, 2022, Williams assaulted an adult female in the lobby of the Atlantic City bus terminal. The assault, which involved both finger and genital penetration, occurred while the victim was asleep. The crime was captured on surveillance footage, leading to Williams’ arrest.

Sentencing is tentatively set for March 19, 2025, before the Honorable Pamela D’Arcy, J.S.C. The investigation was a joint effort between the New Jersey Transit Police Department, the Atlantic City Police Department, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

As the case moves toward sentencing, this disturbing incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts to hold offenders accountable and protect the community.
