Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small and his wife, La'Quetta Small, the superintendent of the Atlantic City School District, were indicted on charges of physically and emotionally abusing their 15-year-old daughter between December and January. Marty Small, in addition to second-degree child endangerment, faces charges of terroristic threats and aggravated assault, including hitting his daughter with a broom, causing her to lose consciousness. Both parents are accused of various abusive acts, including punching, dragging by the hair, and using a belt. The couple maintains their innocence. Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman was also indicted for failing to report the alleged abuse when informed by a student.
