Bayonne Hospital Hits Exceptional Milestone With Zero Patient Infections For 2 Straight Years
BAYONNE (Hudson County) β One New Jersey hospital is claiming something almost unheard of in healthcare right now: zero patient infections for two straight years.
Bayonne University Hospital says it recorded no hospital-acquired infections across its entire facility in 2024 and 2025 β a benchmark considered one of the highest standards in patient safety.
To put that in perspective, about 1 in every 31 hospital patients nationwide develops an infection during care.
Officials say the milestone comes during a major turnaround at the hospital, including new leadership, upgraded facilities, and expanded staff.
The hospital has also invested millions into renovations, improved emergency room operations, and brought in hundreds of new physicians.
Leadership is calling it proof that patient care is improving β but the claim stands out most because infections remain a major issue across hospitals nationwide.
