“I just don’t think anybody deserved to lose their life over a parking spot,” his daughter, Amanda, said through tears in an interview with Local 10 News.

Amanda acknowledged that she and her father had been estranged for years before recently rebuilding their relationship.

“He was a good man,” she said before breaking down emotionally.

She also pushed back on reports suggesting her father may have acted inappropriately toward the woman involved in the shooting.

“I heard one news site say it was over a parking spot. Another says it was because my dad was making some type of advance towards the woman, which I will completely debunk because my dad is not that person,” Amanda said.

“He’s not perfect, but not someone that would do this to this extreme.”

Amanda said she was initially hesitant to speak publicly but wanted to make sure her father is remembered beyond the circumstances of his death.

Surveillance video shows Diguglielmo arguing with an unidentified woman before she suddenly pulled out a handgun and fired. He collapsed after being shot, while witnesses said the woman continued yelling as he lay wounded.

Diguglielmo, who had been living in Lauderhill, Florida, was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

The woman remained at the scene and told investigators she acted in self-defense. She has not been publicly identified, and no charges have been announced as detectives continue investigating what led to the deadly confrontation.

The investigation remains ongoing.
