A second migrant who escaped from the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark during a violent uprising Friday has been recaptured, officials said Sunday — leaving two still on the run.
Joan Sebastian Castaneda-Lozada, a Colombian national, was taken back into custody over the weekend. He was initially detained in May on charges of burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit burglary, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The escape occurred after a group of about 50 detainees reportedly staged a revolt, allowing four individuals to flee the facility.
