North Bergen Woman Arrested After Hitting Protesters with Car in Fairview

A North Bergen woman was arrested after allegedly striking several protesters with her car during a demonstration in Fairview on Saturday, July 12.

The incident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at Fairview and Anderson Avenues, according to Police Chief Vincent Bellucci. Protesters were blocking the intersection when a confrontation broke out between a participant and the driver, identified as Linda Roglen.

Police say a protester spat on Roglen’s vehicle, prompting her to hit him with her car. As others surrounded her vehicle, Roglen drove forward, striking multiple people.

Several protesters sustained minor injuries; one was hospitalized.

Roglen faces multiple traffic violations and four counts of assault by auto resulting in bodily injury. The case is under investigation.
