🚨 Homeowner Fights Off Intruder In 4am Cranford Break-In
A homeowner went face-to-face with a suspected burglar during a break-in just before dawn Wednesday, police say.
The incident happened around 4:25 a.m. on Beech Street, where investigators say one suspect smashed a first-floor window to get inside while another stayed outside as a lookout.
The homeowner confronted the intruder inside the house, sparking a brief struggle before the suspect took off.
Police say a white, mid-size SUV was seen in the area before and after the attempted break-in and believe the incident may be tied to a growing pattern of similar burglaries in nearby towns.
Authorities are warning residents to lock up, remove key fobs from vehicles, and stay alert.
