A recent multi-agency operation in Passaic County targeted illegal prostitution activity at local hotels and massage parlors, resulting in eight arrests and the seizure of more than $13,000 in cash.
Officials say the operation wasn't just about prostitution enforcement — it was also aimed at disrupting activity linked to human trafficking and exploitation, crimes that experts warn can increase during major international events.
"Human trafficking and prostitution-related crimes have no place in our communities," Sheriff Thomas Adamo said. "We will continue to aggressively investigate these activities and hold those responsible accountable."
