Hudson Regional Health Foundation Helps More Than 500 Hudson County Kids Get Ready for School

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — More than 500 children across Hudson County are heading into the new school year with new backpacks and school supplies following a series of back-to-school events organized by the Hudson Regional Health Foundation.

The nonprofit arm of Hudson Regional Health recently held events in Bayonne, Hoboken and Secaucus, partnering with local organizations and elected officials to distribute supplies to children and families.

The effort is part of the Foundation’s growing community outreach as Hudson Regional Health expands its presence across the county.

“As Hudson Regional Health expands, so too do the charitable endeavors of our Foundation,” HRH CEO and President Dr. Nizar Kifaieh said. “We are proud to support our local youth and nonprofit organizations in their work to uplift communities across Hudson County.”

Bayonne

At Bayonne University Hospital, the Foundation teamed up with the Bayonne Police Athletic League to provide backpacks and school supplies to children attending the organization’s summer camp.

Bayonne Mayor Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski and Councilmembers Miriam Salama, Gene Perry and Mark Bottino joined HRH representatives to distribute the supplies and wish the children well ahead of the school year.

The Foundation also donated backpacks and supplies to the Latin Social Organization for its haircut and book drive in Bayonne.

Hoboken

In Hoboken, the Foundation partnered with Community Lifestyle for a back-to-school drive at Hoboken University Hospital.

The organization works with local families throughout the city, and Hoboken Council President Ruben Ramos joined the event as supplies were distributed to children preparing to return to class.

Secaucus

Another distribution was held at Secaucus University Hospital in partnership with Secaucus Mayor Mike Gonnelli.

Councilman John Gerbasio and Councilwoman Orietta Tringali also attended the event.

Altogether, Hudson Regional Health said the back-to-school efforts provided backpacks and school supplies to more than 500 local children.
